01:26 am - Lightbulb dimly flickering in my head..
So now I've come to the realization why logical, sensible things like gun control has not happened, and why Trump has not been impeached or reproached by the establishment Republicans. I think a significant minority of the country is just fucking crazy. Yeah, I understand that it's nearly half the people who voted for Trump - but not all of them were crazy. Some of them had their reasons, most of which I would classify as single-issue voters. For example, someone in my husband's family voted for him because she had a government job and she thought he'd be better for her since he seemed to be more open to getting rid of some of the rules that hampered her job like with government contractors. Mainly, it was selfish. So yeah, the selfish people aren't crazy. But what's scary is the alt-right - what I term the real crazies. They're a non-dismissable group, regardless if they're a minority. They're loud and they're crazy. And some of them are in the fucking White House because of stupid Orange Cheeto. And some of them pop up here and there too in the Republican Party (e.g. Sarah Palin).
However, I digress. The whole point of this post was to say I realize now, more so than ever before in my life, how many fucking insane and/or ignorant people there are out there. And NO FUCKING WONDER good, logical things have not happened. Because of those people (even before Trump). Even the single-issue voters are in that category and I condemn them still because there was just SO MUCH you had to look past to cast your vote for that fucking idiot. What with the "pussy-grabbing," the racism, the demeaning attitude to everyone, the nonstop disrespect and word vomit that he splattered all over the American people. Yeah, sorry not sorry - you don't get a pass either. You don't get a pass for making the worst decision of your life - one that not only affects yourself but millions of other people. So yeah, pretty much fuck you too. I think I have every right to be angry about this bullshit. And I think I'm being pretty fucking logical and sane to be angry because all this shit AFFECTS MY LIFE. But God, how disappointed I was in America, especially the people who make up his base, the people in rural, red states - what level of ignorance and/or insanity you need to have voted for that fucking prick - and there are SO many of you. I pray that you will realize your mistake, even partially. Please. Please use some logic to guide your mind - when someone does something illegal in public, they should get punished. Cheeto is running wild doing illegal things and he's not getting punished. He needs to collect his dues. I am patiently waiting, especially so for the AHA(!) moment for the establishment Republicans to wake the fuck up and realize what a monster they've endorsed. And how they've already failed the American people and that they need to start bringing that monster down.

10:11 pm - Calling BS
I don't understand how to not feel angry about what's going on with the institution of the American presidency right now. I just don't. I went through various stages of grief after Trump the Orange Cheeto got elected, but now it's just pure anger. What with his dealings with Russia which are ILLEGAL (which no one seemed to care about prior to the election but now the reality of the sinister allegations are finally sinking in) and with some of the terrible, terrible confirmation picks (Betsy DeVos for the Department of Education <- this one makes me just cry inside for every kid in this nation, Ben Carson for the Department of Housing and Urban Development <- a self-hating black man who sneers at the poor, Scott Pruitt for Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency <- an ally to the oil industry who denies climate change is the steward of our environment), and Steve Bannon for the National Security Council, who brings white supremacy to have a seat at the table. The Cheeto is seeing that his lies are going to implode on him. His strategy for bullying and intimidating and discrediting will not keep up - America is not a fucking game show, and the American people are not all fucking dunces. And today, with his first press conference as the President, what does he do but be the giant fucking dick that he always has been? He was totally disrespectful and rude to April Ryan, a black reporter from the American Urban Radio Networks in Baltimore, asking her to set up a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus in a derogatory manner. She repeatedly tells him no, and that she's just a reporter. It's not her fucking job to set up meetings for you, you prick. Her job is a REPORTER - to REPORT news - to be at your fucking press conferences. Her job is not to be your damn secretary. YOU HAVE OTHER PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR YOU WHO WHOSE JOB IT IS TO SET THOSE MEETINGS UP YOU DICK. Unbelievable. This is how you treat every fucking person who's a minority - like they're in this secret clan and they all fucking know each other. Just because I'm Korean doesn't mean I know every fucking Korean in the United States. I would be so offended at that comment - and I am on behalf of her, a fellow woman and a fellow minority. That shit is just not right.
Besides hating on the Orange Cheeto, I also have a newfound hatred of Republicans, particularly the establishment Republicans who have a seat at the White House table. The thing I hate worse than ignorance might be total fucking incompetence. If you have a job, do it right or get the fuck out. To every Republican close to this monster, to every Republican who is not mentally incapacitated but doing jack shit for our country, you are a disgrace to your parents and to your children. To back that Cheeto Monster up, even by silently complying, is fucking treason right now. I hope you can live with yourself, and that you can sleep soundly at night. One quote that has been running through my head lately a lot is the scene from The Departed where Mark Wahlberg's character berates someone for not setting up a camera in the back of the building to get a view from every angle of the drug sting, and thereby causing the sting to fail in part since one of the parties get away by boat in an area where the guy had not put up a camera. Mark turns to the guy and says: "I'm the guy who does his job; you must be the other guy." The Republican senators and statesmen right now are "that other guy" - that guy who does not do his fucking job. Your job is to UPHOLD the Constitution and to PROTECT the American people, to be a voice for the voiceless, to carry the weakest among us, to try to alleviate things for the disadvantaged, and to be a steward of democracy and the democratic process. The Cheeto goes and violates the Constitution and they do nothing, they say nothing. And to me, that means they are just as complicit in the crime. Not only that, they are not doing their job at all. This is your fucking job - you are getting paid to do this. It shouldn't be the American people's job to be outraged and have to call our senators all the damn time when we see a violation or an injustice - this is your JOB. Get that through your fucking heads. And more than other jobs, this is one to be taken very seriously as a lot of people are entrusting you to be that check and balance against an oppressive President, one who is trying to tear down our democracy. You should be thinking about how to combat these evils 24/7 - and yet you sit there silent and smiling, and even defending him. I hope there's a special place in hell reserved for you.

09:14 pm - It's been around a week..
So...it's only been a couple of weeks since Trump became president but boy has there been A LOT of crap; but really, what could you expect from someone as terrible as him? Let's see, protests have been flaring up all over the country, including the biggest in US history (women's march, go women!), DeVos got confirmed as Education Secretary, Muslims got banned from traveling to the US from 7 random Middle Eastern countries (not the top 3 that Trump has business dealings with, however), Yemen rightfully kicked the US out from doing antiterror ground raids due to civilian casualties (from Trump fucking up his intel), the wall across the Mexican border will go on (like some horrible neverending nightmare) and will be funded by American taxpayers (he says that it will be funded by tariffs on Mexico which is a joke because it will drive up prices for American consumers)....did I miss anything? Oh and Bannon got promoted to be a member of the National Security Council and is the Puppet Master of the Third Reich. I shouldn't say that last part, he is only trying to make America racist as shit. Needless to say, I condemn all of the Republicans (except maybe not the two who tried to oppose DeVos's nomination) and every single person who voted for Trump, regardless of their reasoning. You failed us all - you failed not only our great country, but you failed yourself and your family. In all outward appearance, I will work with you and I will be a decent human being to you since there are so many of you, but I will NEVER forget what you did. How you were able to swallow his bag of lies down your throat is beyond me - how did you not choke on it? How were you able to look past the vulgar comments and even more serious implications of sexual assault like "pussy grabbing"? ESPECIALLY for anyone who has a daughter in their life, how could you have failed that girl or that woman so? Not to mention his blatant racism. It was unimaginable to me that someone like this should be, could be, a President, let alone the President of the United States of America, founded on principles of racial and religious equality. The greatest lesson I have learned from all of this is to NEVER take freedom or liberty for granted, stay eternally vigilant. This will be a rough, rough 4 years, but I am happy for the lessons that I learned. I am becoming more politically aware and politically active.

01:36 am - Once again...
Once again, I am here...writing...after watching another debacle put on by the people's most gracious champion, Donald J. Trump. Here's some of the more vivid points which stood out to me from the Town Hall debate:
- Admitting that he did not pay federal taxes (he did not admit the duration of time for which he did not pay; however, he plainly stated that he did NOT pay them)
- Stating that Aleppo has already "fallen" and writing it off as a lost cause in response to a question asked regarding what the candidates would do about the humanitarian crisis there.
- Acting like he is the sweeping arbiter of justice saying that he will jail Hillary if he becomes president (there are deeper implications to this; it is unprecedented for a nominee to flat out say they are going to arrest another nominee)
- Disagreeing, in no uncertain terms, with his own VP nominee regarding how to handle the situation in Syria (another unprecedented event to disagree with one's own VP during the debates)
- Dismissing his 2005 video where he talked about women in an extremely lewd manner, that was pretty much an admission of sexual assault, as just "locker-room banter" (like every guy talks about women that way and that it is okay for someone to objectify persons of a certain gender and to violate them in whatever manner they please because the said persons are considered objects rather than people)
- Maybe most disturbing to me (and not really talked about or pointed out by the media, at least so far) is his unending attacks on the Khan family. He said: “Unlike her, who voted for the war…I would not have had people in Iraq because Iraq was a disaster. So he would be alive today.” To me, that is wrong on so many levels. Their son sacrificed his life (the most valuable possession a person owns) for our country, then you go ahead and immediately attack/ridicule him and his family about it, and then nearly 3 months later you still haven't let go of humiliating them by uttering something so downright horrific. When a parent loses their child, you DO NOT say that the death could have been prevented if you were in a certain position, but you REALLY DO NOT say that their child could or would still be alive. This more than crossed the line for me; it is truly reprehensible. And goes back to an earlier sentiment where I stated that he does not care about human life.
Let's expand on that last point a little more. Throughout this election cycle, he's made numerous blunders (too many to count, really), and it's been most interesting for me to see what is the sticking point for different people. Mine was obviously the Khan thing, which you can see above as I wrote more about it than any of the other points because it really bothered me how lightly he talks about human life. For many, it has been the unearthing of his latest scandal where on a hot mic, he goes on to use the most obnoxious, demeaning language to talk about his sexual conquests, objectifying women in the process. And for others, it was his open invitation to Russia to hack into Hillary's missing emails, with the broader implications of national security risks in requesting another country to interfere with America's election process, along with even more sinister undertones of making it sound okay for another country to illegally hack into private and/or confidential data indiscriminately. For my dad, it comes to him having pissed off nearly every respectable world leader and making so many blunders concerning international politics such as Asian countries carrying nuclear weapons, not supporting NATO, etc. Seriously, the list goes on and on..whether it be his temperament being unfit to wield the power to launch nuclear weapons or his disparagement of disabled people or his rebuke of prisoners of war saying that they're not heroes because they got captured. After all this, it is absolutely astounding to me that his core supporters have not abandoned him. Astounding and troubling, to say the least.
For the people who say politics don't matter, the news media doesn't matter, everything is all bias and lies; I dare say it DOES matter and that this IS relevant to your life. Not only to your life, but to everyone's lives on this planet. It matters to your life as an American because if Trump becomes president, trust me, he WILL bring this economy down with his talk of tax cuts (which will benefit the wealthy the most) and cutting healthcare. And if America goes down, it will have a ripple effect across the world financial markets. Not to mention he will get to have his pick of a Supreme Court Justice, who serve on average a length of 15 years. 15 long years shaping the face and future of this nation, for better or for worse. And for the people in other countries, who knows if some world leader would piss him off, and with his erratic nature coupled with his obsession for not letting go of any slights, he could very well start a war with another country. Another reason he is unfit to be the Commander in Chief, other than his total flippancy to human life, is his unbridled narcissism. An ego like his cares nothing at all for anyone else but himself. And that does not a good President make. Or let's break it down into even simpler terms - how can an uncouth misogynist who knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the way politics works or about foreign policy in general be our effin' President???? I don't know if I'm more sad or if I'm more scared of just how many people stand in his camp even now. For me, it's totally against any sense of logic. I understand you want a white knight to shake up the corruption of the political system and to hold the behind the scenes players more accountable for their actions, but believe you me, he IS NOT that white knight. He is not, and will not be, the savior. He is just a two-bit con artist (and a very undeserving person of everything that has been given to him in his life). For the ones who still believe in his message of hope, I just hope that the veil will be lifted from your eyes one day.

Thanks, Trump, for making me a bit more numb to your insane rhetoric. You keep on doing it over and over again so I don't feel as much outrage as the last time you crossed the line. You repeatedly cross the line and you will pay for it one day. I hope that either your name and your family is forgotten into oblivion or that you are vilified in history as the unstable and idiotic sociopath that you are. And thanks for ruining the political process for a whole GENERATION of youth. And you have no right to speak about yellow, black, or brown people when you are ORANGE. As I have said before, you are an utterly despicable man. You are a con artist who does not deserve the advantages that you have been given. I guarantee you would not have all that you have now or gotten to the place you are without your father's precious money. I could not imagine you being a competent co-worker if you had to work with me. You would be disruptive, crass, and get fired. You have tarnished America's image and I am sad about that. People around the world are in disbelief and are laughing at the fact that a such a buffoon has gotten so far. And as others have echoed before me, you are Hitler in the making, with your racist and violent rhetoric. You are a primitive caveman. You may not pay for your actions now, but mark my words, you will be VILIFIED in the end (or forgotten). Your character and your lies will be crucified in the light of truth and people will look down on you as the most ignorant piece of shit that walked and breathed on this earth.

01:05 am - On a more positive note....
I guess I've posted lot of negative entries lately about gloomy political subjects (like gun control and abortion)...so on to a more positive note - I'm done with school for the time being (unless I choose to pursue a phd, which is highly unlikely anytime in the foreseeable future), have a wonderful boyfriend who I believe is the best and most complementary person for me, annnnnd I'm starting my first real career job in less than two days!
I've gone through teenage angst, college years, and now onto the rest of my adult life as a gainfully employed member of society (woohoo). Plus, I'm almost done with CPA!!!! That will be a huge burden off my back when it's over, bleh. Then I can finally rest and do with my free time what I will like cook, read, pin things on pinterest, watch movies, whatever friggin' hobby or activity that I want to do, I can do it without feeling guilty about having to study for the damn CPA. Well, that is all, happy Labor Day!
